Astral   Mists   was   created   by   Erika   Zammit,   an   islander   with   a   passion   for   the   arts. The   company   name   was   inspired   by   her   love   for   Space   and   Astronomy,   and   her fascination   with   the   mysterious   aspects   of   life   and   the   Earth.   Having   this   fondness for    mystery,    Erika    was    always    allured    by    mist    –    seeing    how    it    attracts    an enchanting   feel,   and   since   her   creations   are   mainly   about   Astronomy,   or   have   an eerie sensation – the name Astral Mists was born. Astral   Mists   offers   a   variety   of   art   branches   such   as   Fine   Art,   photography   prints, and also prints of original illustration designs, paintings, and drawings. A   diversity   of   techniques   and   media   are   used   to   enrich   each   piece   in   a   unique   way,   each   of   which   is produced and ensured with love, passion, and devotion. Meet the Artist behind Astral Mists Erika   Zammit   is   a   full-time   Artist   specialising   in   mainly   acrylic   and   oil   paintings.   She   studied   the   Arts and   History   of   Arts   at   Advanced   level,   and   furthered   her   studies   on   her   own.   Her   main   specialisations are    space    paintings,    portraits    and    figure    drawings.    She    also    enjoys    abstract    art,    pointillism, photography   and   illustrations,   and   her   work   has   been   selected   on   multiple   occasions   –   featuring   on covers, displays, and Murals in multiple Symposia, websites, events, and educational places. Art   for   Erika   is   not   only   a   passion,   but   also   a   way   of   life.   She   feels   one   with   art   and   cannot   recall   a   time where   it   didn’t   flow   through   her   naturally.   Since   early   childhood,   art   supplies   have   been   her   best friends. One   of   her   main   interests   is   the   Universe;   the   science   behind   it,   and   Astronomy.   It   started   out   as   a curiosity   at   a   very   young   age   –   which   was   fostered   even   further   through   educational   books   about   the Space   and   Cosmos,   Science   books,   space   documentaries,   and   SciFi   series.   Erika’s   fascination   with   the Universe   has   been,   and   still   remains,   a   major   part   of   her   life   –   and   this   was   one   of   the   principal   points of inspiration that caused her to combine her passions into one; Painting the universe. Her   hobbies   include   adventure   travelling,   and   meeting   locals   in   her   travels   to   experience   and   learn about   the   different   cultures.   At   a   young   age   she   joined   the   NGO   Special   Rescue   Group   –   St.   Lazarus Corps   as   a   volunteer.   Growing   up   volunteering   for   this   NGO   was   a   major   inspiration   in   her   life,   which lead her to study First Aid at Advanced level, and further become a lecturer in the subject. Erika lives in Malta, with her family and dog Sparky.
